Course Description
Who Should Attend:Child support enforcement (CSE) workers who process cases requiring locate activity or workers who want to learn more about the Locate subsystem of PACSES.
Overview and Focus:CSE workers manage cases that involve members where not all pertinent member information is known. In order to address these situations, CSE workers must first understand the regulations and statutes, as well as PACSES processing, to manage cases that have members active in Locate effectively. Second, CSE workers must understand the Locate subsystem and how it interacts with the other subsystems. Third, CSE workers must understand that Locate is essential to paternity establishment, Support Order establishment, financial processing, enforcement of Support Orders, and interstate case processing. Finally, CSE workers must understand they play a vital role in the locate process by reviewing information received during Locate and making decisions on how to further process the information.
Course Competencies:- Identify when a member has been placed in Locate.
- Gather and verify information manually on the missing key data elements in the Pennsylvania Child Support Enforcement System (PACSES).
- Check and verify data received through automated requests made by PACSES.
- Update PACSES with current member information after the information has been verified.
- Process a Quick Locate request to find noncustodial parents (NCPs) residing outside of Pennsylvania.

100-Level Online
These courses provide in-depth instruction on each of the case management processes (i.e. Case Initiation, Locate, Paternity Establishment, Financials, Enforcement, Case Closure, etc.) used in the Title IV-D Child Support Enforcement (CSE) Program. The courses allow the participant to work at their own pace using case studies. The courses are designed for less experienced CSE staff who require additional knowledge and understanding of individual CSE topics. The training is also appropriate for cross-training personnel in more than one CSE area of expertise.
Working With the Military in Child Support Matters
This course focuses on how to work efficiently and effectively with military personnel, using procedures and methods consistent with the Federal and State statutes, regulations, and rules that govern military child support matters and the Title IV-D Child Support Enforcement (CSE) Program
