Course Description

Who Should Attend:

This course is designed to address the needs Child Support Enforcement (CSE) staff who need to understand the financial impact of Change Control 604 (CC 604).

Overview and Focus:

The goal of this workshop is to examine the impact of changes implemented through "Change Control 604 (CC 604)" - "Monthly Obligation Frequency" and its impact on financial processing.

Topics Addressed:

Changes in frequencies, accruals, and the calculation in the daily rate used to determine the amount of support owed for partial months
Conversion of existing monthly ongoing obligations to the new accrual method
Conversion of non-monthly frequencies to monthly and the new accrual method. Inclusion of fees on the income attachment
Comparison of pre-CC 604 and post-CC 604 processing related to the:

Calculation of arrears owed at the time of obligation entry;
Calculation of prorated accrual amounts owed for partial months;
Frequency with which retroactive and/or normal arrears are created for accrual periods encompassed within new obligation entries; and
Calculation of obligation adjustments.
