Course Description
Who Should Attend:This workshop is appropriate for all Child Support Enforcement (CSE) directors, managers, supervisors, support case conference officers, and all staff members responsible for establishing, enforcing, collecting and managing medical support data, and dealing with medical support reports and performance measures.
Overview and Focus:The focus of the workshop is to provide an overview of all recent and upcoming changes related to the establishment, enforcement, and processing of medical support within the Title IV-D CSE Program. A primary focus of this workshop is how to accurately record data for data reliability concerns and how to improve medical support performance measures.
Topics Addressed:The primary topics addressed in the course/workshop are the following:
- Background and laws pertaining to medical support
- Medical support enhancements and roll-out timeframes
- National Medical Support Notice (NMSN):
Automated generation, cover letter, contest procedures and notice to the obligor, termination/vacate/suspend notice, and withholding limitations worksheet - Medical support establishment:
Rule 1910 of the Pennsylvania Rules of Civil Procedure (Pa. R.C.P.) 1910.16-6 (Recommendation 90), Case Medical Order (CMOR) screen changes, modifications to support orders, mass/auto generation of support orders and its impact on orders entered during the period from 04/01/1999 through 04/01/2007, accurate selection of the Ordered Medical Indicator (OMI) codes, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and the Health Insurance Premium Payment (HIPP) program, eligibility criteria and its impact on medical support performance measures - Medical support enforcement:
Pa. R.C.P. 1910.16-6 (Recommendation 90), manual generation of the NMSN and failure to respond to NMSN, employer issues and concerns regarding the NMSN and addressing unreimbursed medical support enforcement, and the impact of the medical support enforcement performance measure - CHIP and Health Management System (HMS) interfaces
