Automated Case Closure (ACC) and Order Modification Workshop
Course Description
Who Should Attend:This workshop is appropriate for all Child Support Enforcement (CSE) directors, managers, supervisors, support case conference officers, and all staff members responsible for establishing, enforcing, and reviewing support cases and reports that deal with support case closure, order modification (non-financial obligations) and performance measures.
Overview and Focus:The focus of the workshop is to provide an overview of the automated case closure and order modification (Recommendation 75) process. Participants will gain an understanding of how support cases are selected, including the predefined criteria that makes the cases eligible. In addition, participants will be able to identify what actions to take when exceptions occur and how to initiate closure or non-financial obligations in the Pennsylvania Child Support Enforcement System (PACSES) or in the Performance Improvement Module (PIM) Phase II.
Topics Addressed:The workshop will address the following topics:
- Background and laws pertaining to Federal case closure and support order modification according to Rule 1910-19 (f) of the Pennsylvania Rules of Civil Procedure (Pa. R.C.P.)
- Initiation and review of support cases eligible for closure or order modification in PACSES or PIM II
- Automated case closure and order modification
- County opt-in/review or opt-out and reevaluation process
- Exception processing when selection criteria changes
- How to exempt a support case from the automated closure/order modification process
- New PACSES screens and forms specific to automated case closure and support order modification
- Performance measures and reports, including key points on how to improve current support and arrears performance measures, work reports and what impact to expect from focused efforts
