Course Description
Who Should Attend:Child support enforcement (CSE) workers who need to raise their awareness of the potential for violence in the workplace and how to handle effectively such situations when they occur.
Overview and Focus:CSE workers face an environment with many challenges. Dealing with the emotions inherent in the world of child support can sometimes place workers at risk. Both plaintiffs and defendants can have volatile emotions as they proceed through the child support enforcement process. As the intermediary between these two parties, CSE workers are often at risk for becoming involved in situations in which violence can escalate. By knowing the warning signs and how to react, individual workers can help ensure their own safety, as well as the safety of plaintiffs, defendants, and co-workers.
