Description
The Pennsylvania Child Support Enforcement Training Institute (PACSETI) is currently seeking applicants interested in working as a full-time instructor. Instructors teach a variety of curricula related to child support enforcement (CSE) and participate in the development and review of training materials. The incumbent will join a team of eight other full-time instructors and will work primarily in central Pennsylvania, with office facilities located in Harrisburg. This position requires travel within the region and occasional travel to training locations throughout the State. Professional development will be available to all instructors to enhance their instructional expertise with adults.
The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in the following areas:
- Federal and State policies and procedures regarding child support enforcement
- Pennsylvania Child Support Enforcement System (PACSES) initiatives
Persons with specialized knowledge of the following topics will be considered highly desirable candidates:
- Title IV-D attorney training on topics such as Title 45 of the Code of Federal Regulations (45 CFR), the Pennsylvania Rules of Civil Procedure (Pa. R.C.P.), and the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (UIFSA)/Intrastate Family Support Act (IFSA)
- All aspects of domestic relations work related to child support enforcement
- Soft skills, including but not limited to, training in leadership, diversity, domestic violence, conflict resolution, group negotiation, and team building
- Train-the-trainer experience within specific content areas related to child support enforcement or related soft skills
- Judicial training
PACSETI instructors work within the Penn State Justice and Safety Institute (JASI) under the direct supervision of the Institute’s project manager.
Background
- Graduate degree from an accredited college or university in a professionally related field, such as human development and family studies, administration of justice, adult/higher education, business, public administration, or law
- Extensive work-related experience in Domestic Relations Section (DRS) offices, child-support enforcement, and PACSES are highly desirable; serious hiring consideration will be given to those candidates with several years experience, preferably at the management or supervisory level, but with no graduate-level education
- Experience teaching PACSETI curriculum to adult learners using a variety of teaching technologies and methods
- Computer skills and knowledge of Web-based learning techniques
- Ability and willingness to teach multiple offerings of the same curriculum
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with an audience of adult learners of varying educational backgrounds and levels of employment within the child support enforcement field
- Willingness to increase training or technical expertise in specific content areas or information technology on an on-going basis or as needed
- Ability and willingness to travel
Technology Expertise
Experienced with Microsoft Windows operating system and software, Microsoft Office Suite (Office 2007 preferred), electronic communication software, and connecting to and using the Internet. Demonstrated experience providing basic instruction in computer use to class participants.
Salary Range
Salary range is negotiable, depending upon qualifications, education, and experience.
