Description
PACSETI is currently seeking applicants interested in working as Adjunct Instructors. Adjuncts may serve as substitutes for full-time PACSETI faculty, participate in teaching of specialized topics, and/or participate in the development and review of materials.This is an exciting opportunity to utilize vacation or release time to participate in an established training institute. Opportunities will be available for single or multiple day assignments at a number of locations across the State. Schedules can be tailored to individual availability and desired level of commitment. Teaching assignments will range from introductory courses for newly hired child support enforcement workers to highly specialized courses geared toward more experienced personnel.
Assistance in the curriculum development process can be done independently through electronic communication with occasional travel required to attend review meetings. Professional development will be available to all adjunct faculty to enhance instructional expertise with adult learners.
Persons with specialized knowledge of the following topics will be considered highly desirable candidates:
- new Federal and State policies and procedures regarding child support enforcement
- PACSES initiatives
- Title IV-D attorney training on topics such as Title 45 of the Code of Federal Regulations, PA Rules of Civil Procedure, and the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act(UIFSA)/Intrastate Family Support Act (IFSA)
- all aspects of domestic relations work, as noted in the general faculty job description for full-time faculty below
- soft skills, including but not limited to leadership training, diversity, domestic violence, conflict resolution, group negotiation and team building
- train-the-trainer experience with specific content areas noted in the general faculty job description below
- judicial training
PACSETI Part-time Adjunct Instructors will work under the direct supervision of the Institute's Project Manager within JASI.
Background
Graduate degree from an accredited college/university in professionally-related fields, such as human development and family studies; administration of justice; adult/higher education; business; public administration, or law Extensive work-related experiences in domestic relations sections offices, child-support, and PACSES are highly desirable; serious hiring consideration will be given for those with several years experience, preferably at the management or supervisory level, but with no graduate-level educationTeaching experience in Institute curriculum with adult learners using a variety of teaching technologies and methods Computer skills and knowledge of Web-based learning Ability/willingness to teach repeated curriculum, Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-paced environment Ability to work with adult-learners of varying educational backgrounds, who hold diverse positions within the domestic-relations or child-support field, and who may be in attendance at any one course Willingness to increase training/expertise in content area or information technology on an on-going basis Ability to travel with a region is highly desirable.
Technology Expertise
Experienced with MS Windows operating system and software, electronic communication software, and connecting to and use of the Internet. Demonstrated experience in providing basic instruction in computer use to class participants.
Salary Range
Salary negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience
